How to rename a computer without having to reinstall SCIEX OS ?

Answer

It is possible to change the computer name without having to reinstall SCIEX OS software, however the following workaround should be done before and after:

1) Use a local user account with an administrator role.
2) Login on to the SCIEX OS software, go to the "Configuration" workspace (User management part) and remove all of the users except the account currently used locally which has admin rights.



3) Change the computer name and then start the computer again.
4) The same local user must log back in SCIEX OS and then add the network accounts with the new computer name.
