Setting a new reference (representative) sample for a processing method in SCIEX OS software

Each processing method created in the Analytics mode in SCIEX OS software has a reference sample that defines the components and is used to set the integration parameters. Users may need to change this sample to update retention time information or for other reasons. To change the reference (representative) sample, follow these steps:

• Open the processing method in Analytics mode.
• Under the Workflow section, click on the current reference sample in the Selected screen and remove it by clicking on the blue arrow pointing to the left. 

• After selecting the new reference from the Available screen, move it to Selected screen using the blue arrow pointing to the right. Users can browse to a new project to select a particular data set, if needed. 

• Select the Integration tab. A message will appear: "Update Retention Times. The reference sample has changed. Click Yes to update the Expected RT with the information from the reference sample." Select yes, and the expected retention times will change to match those in the new reference sample.
